With circulation off the table, what I was seeing had to be the lighting in the pics. IMHO, absent circulation, 64 looked right initially, and still does. I agree that it has the die markers. If this is a business strike, it had to be an early strike from the proof dies. Some of the proof markers would have worn or been polished into oblivion fairly quickly. Pulling for you here! I think you have a pretty decent shot at PR. EDIT: BTW, at the rate you are herding all those 1910 PR Lincolns into your corral, are you going to leave a couple in the wild for the rest of us? This one was literally handed to me, I bought the 1911 d and the 1917 toners, and the man was kind enough to gift this to me as a bonus in the 64rb slab...I was also kind enough to offer to give him one of mine if it slabs pr though. Doubt I need three 1910 mpf anyways. Also got me to start searching slabs on my cherrypicking quest as well. I have a possible 6 matte proof cherrypicks so far.

It looks 65. Having picked a PF 1910 myself, if the die markers are there, it has to be it right?

It goes to show that the hub and die conditions were fresh in 09-10. A lot of proof-like coins were struck as it's been a common forum question for decades.

The fact that it has some of the proof markers circles right back to the first unanswered question: did the mint use the proof dies for business strikes? It also leaves the second unanswered question out there: why are there far too many known 1910 proofs for the official mintage?

IMO they took too much off for those 2 tiny spots. I don't see 6 points in deductions on this coin at all.

I agree as well...strike is top notch, color as well...thr spots are not distracting enough to keep it out of a 5bn in my opinion, but I don't get paid by a TPG either. I expected the downgrade to brown, but expected it to go up a point...and still think it is probably a proof...oh well. |

I agree. After studying the high-res TruViews, I'm still not convinced this is a business strike.
Just a thought. Would Variety Slabbing Service review the slabbed coin for proof attribution? If they're up for it, that might be an inexpensive way to get another opinion.

May have to email them and see what PCGS says...big difference in value if attributed....so would be worth it.
