MS-61 I am on the fence about the PL part. I think reverse is . Obverse probably is but I am not certain.

Now that I look at it again there is quite a bit more chatter on the chin / neck. I would agree this is a ms61 coin.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? |

The reverse is certainly proof like but the obverse doesn't seem to be. For this reason I think it is not a PL coin. I put it at MS60 due to the obverse chatter.

61, PL reverse In the old days ANA(CS) used to differentiate fully PL coins vs reverse only PL, but none of the TPG's these days do the same. Most of the photos are relatively flattering to this dollar and I was thinking MS-63PL was possible. Obverse photo #4 however reveals numerous scratches on the cheek and in the left obverse field. 61 seems about right and PL isn't out of the question.
Carson City Morgans often catch a break from grading services. In any case, you should probably keep it in the original GSA case.

I think it may make MS62. looks like both sides are PL so i'll slap the designation on it

For me to grade using these photos is a monumental task. There is such a difference. I will take a guess and say MS61 PL.

I'm at MS-61. If it misses PL, it might be a oddity, a 61 that snags a bean. It certainly is light years better than what I would expect from a 61.

For whatever reason, lots of the black box GSA CC's for 81-84 had coins in lower Uncirculated grades, although quite a few PL (and even some DMPL) examples are out there.
The lone graded 1885CC GSA I had was a PCGS 64+. I had 4 84's, 2 83's and an 82, all of them were probably 62-63 at most.
