@John, I understand that OMM supposedly do not exist after 1955 but the coin shows what it appears to show. Thank you for replying.

I also understand that MM were still punched by hand back in 1968 if I'm correct? When I have alittle time today I will show the collar with crack/clash markings

@As far as Pareidolia? I have walked away from this coin and returned for about 4 years now. I still see a D over a S as well as many clash marks throughout.

Edited if you look at the full obverse pic in the original post you can see the FS initials are multi struck shifted to the bust to the left. Also with a the die crack that lines up with vista varieties RPM-003

@coin, this sure looks like damage and Pareidolia to me too.

It is fine for you to disagree with us and the best way to prove us wrong is to get this coin authenticated in a slab. I personally think that you would be wasting your money, but that would give you peace of mind that you do or do not have something special here. If you do take this step, please report back here with the results—having an additional touch point helps us learn. Thx.

Thx all, it is not that I necessary disagree with the to date available information offered. I was hoping someone here sees what I am describing. I would like to understand what I'm seeing. This coin was handed to me many years ago as an oddity. You are all correct that the only way to know for sure would be to send it in to be looked at.
Thanks again

Well Coindom76. Sorry I'm going to go with Pareidolia.
I really don't think it's a D/S.
Like John1 said in the beginning OMMs stopped in 1955.

@RobO401, no worries, there is something going on with the MM. Seems there isn't one already listed anywhere so it must not exist. Tbh it doesn't to date. Only way one could exist would be if someone sent one in and it was attributed.

As John, others and myself indicated earlier in this post if I feel that strongly about it I will send it in. I only posted the previous photo circling the spot was because you asked where I was referring to.
Thank you for your all the comments and responses.

Looks to me like this coin has spent some time in acid, or corrosive Enviromint. Weight it, see what you come up with. Acid can make you see anything you want to see on a coin. ( pun intended)

@cujohn, it weighs 5 grams like it should but thank you for mentioning that. I don't clean coins with anything other then acetone. I would think if the outer layer was affected by acid or an inappropriate cleaning solution the weight would be off abit. Thanks you again.

Coindom76, with a coin in this condition, you could see about whatever you wanted. I would have given this a few more seconds that searching a coin in good condition and without something EXTREMELY obvious, I would have tossed it. Just a guess but looks a lot like a fountain coin.

I wonder if there was any excessive polishing going on here as well. I see that Jefferson's neck seems to blend with the field.

@makescents, yeah it just caught me eye so I wanted to see what the community take on it was tbh.
@Dearborn, yeah his neck doesn't really appear to be visible. Not to start another back and forth over this coin but it appears to me to have a die crack running right into his neck as well.
Thanks everyone for the responses
