Princetane, that 1985 10 cent you've got there is better than average. Most found these days are incredibly grubby.

Day 7Noodled $40 worth of 10 cent coins today with good success. Found two 2011s and a 2019 JC. Spotting the difference between the 1981 Canberra and Wales minted coins is a bit of a challenge. Thanks to the information supplied by Nevol in this thread http://goccf.com/t/291590In the picture below, I believe the coin on the left is the Canberra minted coin and the coin on the right is the coin minted in Wales. The text is thicker and the RA in AUSTRALIA is closer together on the reverse of the Welsh minted coin. There is a variety of the 1999 coin known as the "large head" which is easily identified as the text on the reverse is noticeably closer to the rim. "Large head" on the left, normal on the right. I have found very few 1966 coins all of which are very grubby and appear to be the more common London minted coin. That leaves the 1966 Canberra mint, 1985, 1997 and 2016 change-over coins left to find. Total number of 10c coins noodled: 1000 Number of coins found: 52 Number of coins still to find: 4

Day 13Only had 8 rolls to noodle today, but that was enough to find a key date 1997. Not much else of interest besides another 1999 large head and a 2018. No 1966 coins at all today. That leaves the 1966 Canberra mint, 1985 and 2016 change-over coins left to find. Total number of 10 cent coins noodled: 1320 Number of different coins found: 53 Number of coins still to find: 3

Day 21Noodled a $100 bag. Found some key dates: Including this pair of 2016 change-over coins: Took me a lot longer than I expected to find the Canberra minted 1966, but I guess a mintage of around 10 million is not that higher than the 1972 5 cent. That leaves only the 1985 10 cent coin to find. Total number of 10 cent coins noodled: 2320 Number of different coins found: 55 Number of coins still to find: 1

Quote: Don't know about that. I think the 1985 10 cent is one of the most difficult coins to find, certainly harder than any of the 5 cent coins. True - I thought that one coin might be easier than all of the different coloured $2 coins together.

Day 31Had a big $100 bag to noodle through Found a grubby 2019 JC and a nice 1991 Then the 223rd coin of the day was the one I was looking for: If you look hard you might just see a lamination crack stretching from the queen's nose to the L. The 10 cent leg of the Big Noodle is complete. Total number of 10 cent coins noodled: 2543 Number of different coins found: 56 Number of coins still to find: 0

Day 231This weekend I had $1000 to noodle with so instead of getting just a measly 500 two dollar coins I decided to get ten $100 bags of 10 cent coins and have a look for a 2022 ten cent coin. (No I didn't get them all from the same bank) Yes that's 10,000 coins but after all this is the Big Noodle. No 2022 coins but plenty of 2021s. According to the RAM the mintage figure for the 2021 which was previously just 1.25 million is now over 22 million. (Yet the sellers on ebay are still claiming it's a "very low mintage coin") I did manage to find four 1985 coins (which I thought was a good effort) but only a single 2011 (still Australia's lowest mintage circulating 10 cent coin). I got a bit excited when I saw the old Elizabeth II obverse on this coin but it turned out to be a 2012 Belize 25 cent coin: Some key date noodling stats (10,000 coins noodled):
