Wow, congrats!

I keep my eyes open for them but I just don't do enough cash transactions for the math to be in my favor.

Can't wait for a 'parking lot' W quarter to make its appearance...

I hear you, @celticknot — not many cash transactions any more. I've been looking, but this one caught me by surprise. Seems like those who have found "w" quarters roll hunting were in specific geographic areas.

The W quarter is becoming harder to find these days, its cool you got one in your change and many collectors have yet to find even one! Circulation is starting to take it's toll on these, finding in much rougher shape than they were a couple years ago generally. It was a good program to encourage Americans to consider coin collecting by making the W mint mark quarters only available in general circulation. When found (from rolls) its been mentioned the obverse will usually be in Fine, XF to AU condition. The reverse "typically" holds up very well at close to ~AU condition. If you check PCGS price guide some of the highest grades have been found with a couple even up to MS-67+MS-68.

I agree, random YouTube videos may contain misinformation and cause confusion.
Nice find.

Nice find and particularly that it is circulated. Seems to me the circulated W's may be scarcer than the uncirculated ones! A potential "lowball" coin with some value in the future if the lowball coin collecting trend continues and grows in popularity.

Even circulated, it will be a future key date coin. Nice find.
