If was an proof was strike in San Francisco with MM S. All 1972 proof was struck there. This it is an Phil strike and have luster a cause of someone re-polish and do a bad job. It is easy to spot this.

Results of post-minting cleaning efforts.

Semi-chrome polishing paste yielded results like this on copper and brass. We used a lot of it on belt buckles and insignia back in my Army days in the 60's and 70's,

@ Westernsky : to day they use tooth paste for same result. But is crazy because 95% of tooth paste have fluoride inside and in few days after will toning black.

I agree with being cleaned and maybe even buffed to get a high reflective surface.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
