May I,

Datadragon Stated, This issue has long been considered undervalued. Also, only about 23,000 of them have been graded by PCGS and NGC so far, and it is likely that not all the other 23,000 examples have been discovered. [August 2021 article] "

Hello Datadragon, Your Comments are Always Interesting, The terms and Words we use are My Point Today, I too have a couple of these 2008 W Reverse of 2007 ASE's. I have One Slabbed, or Known and One in the OGP Raw. How does the Writers or whomever is in the Know, How do they base a statement like This, There are Plenty of Collectors out There that Have These Raw Too.

IYO, Why do We do This, Brush off, sort of speak, the Balance of these coins, Not Discovered?

People use Words and Terms, Not You Personally, Collectors say, The " Known " populations.
I hope I have been Clear, I tend to Wonder, Thanks for All Your Knowledge DATA, Keep up the great Work, Thank You in Advance, Mike...

Exactly. The Mint, through the FOIA, had determined a rather exact number of these made. They must have a way to know exactly how many were minted by that specific press before the die were changed, it at least the reverse die. So there is that number, then you can subtract all the graded coins. What's left, do they consider undiscovered? There is no "register of 08 rev 07 ASE" that I am aware of that would somehow reduce the number of undiscovered coins of this type. No one knows how many people have these and know it.

A variety in some cases does not always have a known quantity that were made in total. In this case it appears through FOIA the quantity is now known which is why I posted it- 46,318. Only about 23,000 of them have been graded by PCGS and NGC so far and these are verified findings. Some of the remainder may of course be identified as the variety by the owner, but ungraded, however they are just saying that being a variety its likely that some of those 23,000 unverified examples also may not have been identified yet. And as mentioned we also dont know currently how many are ungraded but likely correctly identified to then estimate how many are left out there to be discovered. This means you could possibly learn about this or other varieties that others dont know about (or dont look) and cherrypick them from people/dealers/shows where the seller/owner doesn't know about it possibly. -David

Decided to check back on this one. Apparently someone didn't seem to be bothered by the milk spots...paid the asking price too. Ouch

2008 and the following few years were not the best years for planchet quality on ASEs, mainly the bullion and Uncirculated coins.
