Quick comment on the greenish tint. It may just be the camera and lighting, but we also need to take into account that coin silver is only 90% silver, with the other 10% being copper. Copper does turn green as it tarnishes - just look at the Statue of Liberty, which is 100% green now. I've come across plenty of silver items (sterling, 80% or Continental, 83.5%, Loth 13, etc.) that have greenish tints or spots. This is normal for old silver, but also depends on how it is kept and maintained. Hope this helps, and glad that it came back as genuine.

Cheers!

Congrats on the results.
(And I would have to agree you know your grades and pricing.)

The only thing I wondered about it was the line that appeared to be a die crack running south from the bottom left of the fasces (sticks).
Is that a marker for an older die-state coin?

After thinking about it I've decided to let this one go. There were 2 coins that really stood out in the collection I was buying. This one & an 1803 Half Dime. My original plan was to keep the Half Dime & sell this one. Unfortunately after I initially posted about the Half Dime I realized it had a bend. Every time I looked at it all I could see was the bend and all I could think about was how much I paid. I ended up selling it and told myself I'd keep the 1916-D instead. Unfortunately I just don't get that much enjoyment out of looking at the 1916-D. It's on auction at Great Collections with an opening bid of $1500 and an ending date of April 30th.

Good luck! I would bid if it were in my price range... you know, the AG hole filler kind of 16-D price range.

I had hoped it would go over $4000 but am satisfied with the sale.
