Quote: that does not answer my question - Where is this NEW info coming from? Oh! In that case you should be asking me. The US Mint website. They're the ones providing the information, even the 30,125. They changed it. No idea why or what drove the change, or even how long ago it was changed. Maybe 20 years ago. But the mint says 30,102. I'd go by that

Quote: The 1995W, should be 30,125, right? Well look at what the US Mint itself shows, 30,102? Mandela Effect I don't know. Yes all the original figures and articles showed 30,125. With a low mintage of 30,125 in one of the most widely collected modern U.S. coin series, attaining this piece will become a great challenge. The only way to obtain the low-mintage 1995-W Silver Eagle directly from the U.S. Mint would be by purchasing the entire Eagle proof set offered by the Mint that year. The Mint offered the four-gold piece set at $999 and as a free bonus buyers could choose to receive the special five-piece set, which included the 1995-W Silver Eagle. https://www.pcgs.com/news/1995-w-silver-eagle It also shows that in the american silver eagle mintage guide I posted before https://silvereagleguide.com/mintages/And the mint is now showing 30,102. It says "Figures are updated annually after all sales have been audited and finalized." and so would not have been expected to be changed after that. https://www.usmint.gov/about/produc...culatedyear=+1 to modern coin mart, who has the 30,102 figure. https://www.moderncoinmart.com/blog...intage-chartSo I guess only the mint can answer, but commems answer sounds reasonable other than the fact they normally do that at year end although maybe not in the same way during that timeperiod. And with such a major item perhaps commems or someone else would like to contact the mint to ask. I would think since this is before the mint was online (was that 1999?) and cumulative weekly records were not online as today its just a data error that was later discovered. People who actually cared for the american silver eagle back in 1995 usually couldnt afford the gold set to get it. And people who collected gold eagles treated silver eagles like trash. And silver was cheap cheap in regard to value at that time, so people didnt even want it all that much except diehard collectors.

As one who reads Coin News frequently, at least three times each month they cover current production figures of sets and comemoratives showing adjustments from the previous report. This would have applied in 1995 with the ASE, so my assumption is that after some time an actual figure would be realized. 30,102 seems to be that number, from my veiw point. Either way, I'm inclined to believe what Dearborn stated, adding that while still at the upper ends of the market I wouldn't expect a dramatic increase on a minor reduction from the original figure.

I would sure like to be able to go back in time and buy an ounce of silver plus 1.85 ounces of gold for $999.

To My Understamding, The 4-Gold coins were put together with the Silver 1995-W Eagle, basically receiving the ASE for Free ...............

Who would pass on the ASE? My guess would be those who have collected the 4 coin sets and wanted them the same. The set with the ASE was the 10th anniversary set, the 4 coin set was just the 4 coin set. So people may have wanted to just keep their 4 coin set collection purely just that.

I've said this before, unsure if on here or not And before I say it, I am planning on my first time ever attendance at a large/ "big deal" coin show, the world's fair of money in Chicago this August (retiring or semi- retiring the end of June). So here's my idea, and if I see Ventris Gibson at this show, I'm hoping I can tell her about this idea: 4 coin set, unsure on what finish, I could see proof. One of every mint, W,S,P and for the first time a D. I even have a name, the Sea To Shining Sea Set.

I would like to see an Edge Lettered Enhanced Reverse Proof with a Privy mark or some security feature that can be found on some of the coins from The Royal Mint (Latent Image, Micro Printing, Surface Animation).
