I used to avoid putting any images online of my very best coins. Not wanting to make life easier for forgers. Or frauds. But with everyone putting images online I think they no longer lack examples. Collectors need to exchange information about the genuine coins. And forgers have access to the same information. It is hopeless.

Anyone else notice the three stars below the eagle on the replica?

This is why I don't use Etsy for buying coins. Seems like most of the stuff on there is either fake as the day is long, or pocket change that people are trying to sell for $10,000 claiming it's a "rare error coin".

Here is the coin. It shipped from China to an address in Commerce, ca to my address in TX. The weight is correct, but is thicker. Does not stick to magnet. One look Chinese fake.

Quote: One look Chinese fake. Agreed. I'd rather take the $22 and get 4 real SLQ's, albeit not in as nice a condition as shown in the listing.

Quote: Hmm not seeing COPY anywhere. The sellers of these counterfeits have learned that if they digitally add COPY, their listings pass scrutiny of those that might report them for violating the Hobby Protection Act (requiring COPY) on replicas. As you can see, the actual coin lacks the required COPY outing them as actual counterfeits.

Note that this is not the same "replica" as the image I posted - the reverse is correct on the "coin" received by Slider23. Here's the same version with the correct reverse, which I can order from the sleaze site for $1.25 plus $2.16 shipping. It appears to be the same obverse die with the defect under S in TRVST. This particular listing shows 91 sold. Yay counterfeiters. Get 'em while they last.

Beware, EVERYTING can be counterfeited nowadays, even U.S. Passports... counterfeit gold bars have even been found in the vaults of gold bullion dealers!

The coin you receive will not match the one in the picture. 100% guaranteed.
