I voted "coin shows" as that's where I spend most of my "coin money" these days, but in terms of sheer quantity of coins in the collection, I have a different source.

I am "the coin guy" on a mission charity committee of volunteers whose primary function is the selling of donated stamps. But if anyone donates coins along with the stamps (usually either from deceased estates or from folks downsizing their homes), it's my job to sell them to raise funds for the mission work. Which often means I usually end up buying a large proportion of them myself for my own collection if I don't already have them.

My primary sources are coin shows, ebay, and the US Mint.

Circulation? Not so much.

Well, I could only vote one, so I went online auctions. Lately, the vast majority are from online auctions/sales on a couple FB pages where I know the folks I buy from. BUT, I also get them at shows and from the mint. Infrequently from circulation, though a while ago that was a big source as well.

I've been mostly just picking up coins as I go along, although occasionally I'll get some from family or friends.

Primarily online sales on ebay and from the United States and Royal Canadian mints, and never from auctions. I sometimes also go to the local coin shop though they are mostly precious metals.
