I get the majority of my coins from a local coin shop, followed by a few online coin stores, then ebay and US Mint.

I try to avoid ebay due to the high cost of coins compared to locally and online coin shops.

The majority of my purchases are made from online coin dealers. Several of these dealers I've had regular interactions with for over 10 years. However, the past few years my number of auction purchases has been steadily growing. I do buy some coins and currency at shows or at brick-and-mortar shops, but it's fairly minimal.

Usually from the bank. I used to buy boxes of pennies from the bank. That's how I found most of the coins that I have posted on here.

These days?
-public auction.
I always closely examine each coin in hand before placing a written single fixed priced bid for each lot.
Auctioneer proxy bids for me, I never attend the actual auction.
Pay cash in person if I am successful.

I also attend coin shows, but I also inspect each coin in hand first, before a cash purchase.

Same modus operandum for more than 50 years. I have no intention of changing, except in the past, I also visited my favorite coin shops.
Most of them closed and went on-line, so they lost my business.

Usually from coin fairs. Occasionally from antique/coin shops. Also a friendly local antique dealer might keep something on one side for me in case I'm interested, which is nice.

I voted "coin shows" as that's where I spend most of my "coin money" these days, but in terms of sheer quantity of coins in the collection, I have a different source.

I am "the coin guy" on a mission charity committee of volunteers whose primary function is the selling of donated stamps. But if anyone donates coins along with the stamps (usually either from deceased estates or from folks downsizing their homes), it's my job to sell them to raise funds for the mission work. Which often means I usually end up buying a large proportion of them myself for my own collection if I don't already have them.

My primary sources are coin shows, ebay, and the US Mint.

Circulation? Not so much.

Well, I could only vote one, so I went online auctions. Lately, the vast majority are from online auctions/sales on a couple FB pages where I know the folks I buy from. BUT, I also get them at shows and from the mint. Infrequently from circulation, though a while ago that was a big source as well.
