Sweet! That's what keeps us searching.

Great find in the wild!
The U.S. Mint should do this type of "treasure hunt" more often, to even the playing field for collectors.

Quote: How scarce is this, opinions invited. Quote: $25 in MS63 for the V75 privy . For this clearly circulated XF/AU not much .STILL a neat circulation find . That is a very interesting question, frog and an interesting response, Pacificoin. I say this, because it does mean different things to different people. I have no real good answer for this particular find but think it's cool to find in the wild. I know that's not your thing anymore, frog and Pacificoin, that's a pretty good response, even without me knowing much about this find. Some things are just worth more to some, than others, for different reasons. I have found only one 2001 P Lincoln Cent DDO-001 and have been told it is "scarce", most do not even know about this particular variety but yet it's "scarce" and probably not actually worth that much. This, I guess would be my point about the question to begin with....

Nice find - I say XF/AU grade range. W mint and privy mark make it special for sure.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Here's the thing: most modern U.S. coins collected skew toward MS. There is no shortage of "perfect" coins. That is not true of the 2019-2020 "W" quarters. It harkens back to a time when most specimens were plucked from circulation—the way many of us started out in this hobby, I dare say. So, for many, that's the appeal of hunting for those 20 million "W" quarters, spread across ten designs. That hunt is an equalizer. Sure, some dedicated hunters have gone through box after box of quarters, but those big dealers who typically snap up a large percentage of Mint releases are reduced to the the level of a common collector, hunting through rolls and pocket change. By modern standards, the "W" quarters are scarce, because you just can't go out and buy MS examples directly from the Mint.

I was just curious about the street value of this EF/AU coin. You and I meet, you have the coin, and I have cash. How much?

I know, to some extent, what you look for now and how you do it and why. No problem with that, we all change in time and what is important to us, I understand this. You said, Quote: How scarce is this, opinions invited. . That is a totally different question and the reason for my particular response, just sayin.

Well, there's always fun in looking at ebay completed sales information for similar examples--not asking price, but actual sold amount.

To answer Coinfrog: As to value. I would check ebay sold values to get an idea on current value, then make an offer once I see it in person. John1

Coinfrog, I see these regularly sell for $5-$8 in this condition in person.

The w quarters are not as scarce as people say, I know several collectors that got over 100 from roll hunting, many completing full sets, I myself have 3 (2-66's, 1 AU-58). It's a fun find but if I wanted an MS example easy to buy 1. I know of 1 collector that has 700 W quarters. A circulated example doesn't have much value and like most clad coinage these get ugly really quick with circulation. I got 1 in change and just put it back into circulation.
