Too new to the sport, didn't think fake coins were legal.

You are in Canada, which has stricter anti-counterfeit laws than most other countries. Selling fake coins in Canada is illegal, even if both sides of the deal are aware the coins are fake, and it does not matter if the fake coins are Canadian or not. Even being in possession of them "without lawful justification or excuse" is illegal, and I'm not entirely sure how you would prove you're a legitimate coin collector with a legitimate reason to own a collection of fake coins in a court of law, should that need arise.

These coins appear to be standard "Chinese fakes" seen all too often in recent decades, coming out of mainland China (where making fake foreign coins is perfectly legal). If you bought them in Canada, whoever imported them into Canada broke the law twice - once by importing them, then again by selling them to you. If you are buying them online from a source outside of Canada, then you would be the one doing the illegal importing.

Something can be illegal, but if the law is not enforced, you will find people breaking the law with impunity.

That image of the draped bust is far too tiny - you need to learn to get larger images that are cropped properly.

I can agree with the above, all counterfeit coins
I can add for sure that all known genuine 1804 dollars are already accounted for so if one is not slabbed by a TPG, it is automatically fake/counterfeit guaranteed...

Maybe it's a half dollar? the size doesn't look right for a silver dollar.

So we can see it better - remember you have the luxury of having it in hand under ideal lighting and such - we are held back by the quality of the posted images.

I don't think there are any 1804 half dollars, and the 1804 quarters and dimes are both pretty scarce! Yeah, definitely a fake dollar. I need to echo what the more experienced members of this forum have said so well--if you are new to the hobby, welcome! But start with only getting certified coins to protect yourself from falling for fake coins and cleaned/damaged coins. In short, learn what to look for first :). Again, welcome to the hobby!

You are correct. No fifty-cent pieces were minted in 1804.
