I am not knowledgeable on this type, I would have passed it up as a plating blister. so I learned something new, thanks for posting.

Nice example! Some of these clashes are so faint it is very hard to determine how much of the design is transferred. It does look like the top of the "R" in America was transferred. However, plating is an issue with some1980's and 1990's cents that adds texture to the surface and makes it more difficult to pick out subtle clashes.

Very cool find P55! It looks like the letters ER from what maddieclashes says. I kinda see ED from UNITED from what I see on the listing. It's harder to see on your example though.

Very cool find and good eye to catch it! I always keep an eye open for these but most of the coins I search are from bank rolls and not usually in the condition of yours.

Thanks everyone for the comments. these radical die clashes aren't seen very often. (This is my first.) The curve was obvious at first glance and plating blister crossed my mind but it was too uniform and symmetrical. What sealed it for me was seeing the letters. I had someone that found a couple of these when they first started getting listed tell me the letters were confirmed by the use of an overlay multiple times. Here is an image where I've added circles around two areas of the clash that had me thinking the letters were curved.

I'm confused why you are describing this as a misaligned die versus a clashed die. I see no misalignment at all.

Thanks Bobby. (I gotta admit though, for a minute, I thought I was in trouble when I saw Bobby had replied. I forgot about requesting the edits by a mod. )

Very nice find Petespockets55! If I was the one that find this, I would think it was plating blister as oddguy said. As others I learned something new today! Thank you for sharing.
