Thanks everybody! Definitely a fun set to build and not too many budget busters in that set. I don't think I am spending them anytime soon!

I noticed your Oregon Commemorative actually saw a fair amount of circulation. To me that's pretty neat to think that commemorative circulated that long before some one pulled it from circulation.

It definitely has a neat look to it. There is a chance that someone did a little "artificial toning" to it, but it is an interesting piece that fits into the album well.

no gold page?

Unfortunately the gold page is a $6000 or more investment. Even if I did a gold set, I would probably do certified coins and leave them in the holders. I'd love to do a gold set in the 7070 though. Maybe someday.

Very, very cool! Working on one, but it will be a long time before it looks as good as yours. Really like the early dimes.

I really like that set! Especially nice are your selections in bust and Seated coins. The circulated Oregon half is a nifty touch that only a numismatist would appreciate! (must have taken forever to find that!)

WAY TO GO KENKAT! Very nice looking set! You beat me to completion! This is a tough set to put together regardless of grade, and you have some great examples in there. I think my favorite is your draped bust large cent. It looks very clean and has an attractive color with decent details. These coins command a high premium without corrosion, and I have yet to find a decent one in the price range I'm willing to work with.

Also, is your type 1 slq whizzed?

Wow....someday I'll start a 7070, I have to force myself to focus on one or two things at a time.

You have some awesome examples in there - congrats!

Thanks again everyone! I can't tell you how much I enjoy having a place where I can see other's collections and share mine with others who love coins as much as I do.

I really tried to select nice looking coins while still staying on a budget. It was very tough. Compromises were made! One coin at a time - I struggled with patience - a very hard thing for me.

It's also a hard set to photograph. I played around with lighting a lot to mostly good results. Brown copper next to bright silver is a real challenge!

Those were two of the more expensive coins in the album. I got the 1860-O from an ANACS details slab (Cleaned, Corroded - but I don't see the corroded part) at a great price and the 1872 I also got a pretty good deal on raw from a reliable dealer.

The 1800 Draped Bust Large Cent was purchased along with the 1810 Classic Head Large Cent for what is an unbelievable price of $50 for both. I was buying some Lincoln Wheat Cents and the guy asked what else I collected and I talked about my 7070 and he offered these two. They are only in the G/VG range, but nice overall and corrosion-free. They were planned to be hole fillers but given what these cost in higher grades, they may be there for awhile. A long while!

I was told the Type 1 SLQ came out of an ANACS AU details slab - cleaned. It was raw when I bought it. It has started to retone and the cleaning is pretty light. The price was good so there it is. It is a pretty nice looking coin actually but didn't photograph very well due to lighting challenges related to the toned coins above.

Wow! I thought the draped bust cent was more VG/F, but I'm never good at grading these. IMO it's worth way more than $50 all by itself.

Now you did it! I had to purchase the album to put my type coins in. Thanks for the push!

The guy I bought them from thought they were both "almost" VG. I can see the Draped Bust making VG although it is pretty weak around the rims. F is a big stretch although it does have pretty good hair detail. Regardless, they were a great score for me - honest wear but otherwise problem free. I've kinda grown attached to them!
