I believe you are giving these coins new meanings and purposes. How do you cut out the fields like that?

Well, it is now a rare buffalo pendant, only one that looks exactly like this. Nice

Is SGS still in business? You should send that one off to get slabbed. I bet it comes back Gem Brilliant Uncirculated but may make only MS-62 by their strict grading standards.

Whatever you do, don't clean it.

That Mercury dime one on Etsy looks pretty cool. I think there would be a (small) market for something like this. A unique form of jewelry. Might run into problems due to defacing currency and trying it sell it though...lol

My mom had a Walking Liberty half that was cut out like that. Very attractive coin. There's no crime involved if the intent is to create an art piece. Like the Buffalo too.

The cool thing about using Mercs or Walkers is that you can sell the pendant for more than numismatic value and you get to keep the extra silver that you took off. Double bonus!

That's true but I still don't like to do it with coins that have any numismatic value over melt.
