I believe had I seen one this nice at a coin shop I would have spent 10.50 pretty quickly. Full rims, and despite the poor lighting in the pic, there might even be some luster left on it.

you probably overpaid. However sometimes you see something you want and you just get it. I'm sure most of us have done that.

I like it, I think it was a very fair and good price if not a slight bargain. Good eye! Certainly a very nice circulated example. I bet you love it and rightly so. I predict you'll always keep it even after you upgrade. I would.

I don't know if he overpaid. there were 12 different bidders which is a pretty popular auction for a coin.
If he wants to, he should be able to turn around and resell it without for just about what he paid for it.
Those 12 bidders will rebid, and they may bid a little higher the second time in order to win the coin.

Yeah like I said before I am happy with it. Going in the jefferson spot of my dansco 7070. Didn't want to spend a lot for a high ms example, so I'm glad I got one with good detail for less than $11.

I think you did good.

Last year I was putting together a BU/proof set of Jefferson's.
The 39 D was the last one I needed. I bid on quite a few before
I won one. The problem free examples always seem to get a lot
of bidding action.

As others said .. you could always sell it for what you paid
or more. But I am with Wheezydog .. even if I upgraded I would
keep it

I like it, and I always tend to overpay for the small value coins that I just NEED to fill. I justify it as the 2 or so dollars I overpay on it is easily worth the satisfaction of seeing it done.

Good looking coin for under $10, particularly the key date. In MS, these are expensive. Sniping is the only way to go on the Bay, there's practically no point in putting out a bid more than 24 hours out, especially on popularly collected coins.

Thats at least VF, if not EF. VF lists at 10, so yes you got it for a good price. I will say this again, get a subscription to Coin World on line and you can access coin values on line and immediately check values so you have an idea before you place the first bid.

i use numismedia.com and it seems to work enough for me. and yeah I figured it was worth at least $10. I would have paid $15 personally because I like it so much.
