I can't afford to have dollar signs in front of my eyes, only cents signs.
To that end, my safe is has 10 lead bars in it, each weighing about 10 kilogrammes. Mind you, 100 kilogrammes of lead ain't all that cheap!
Takes up a little less space than silver bars anyway.

If I did the math right, that thing is about 720 pounds! I think the shipping is going to be a bit high...

Fuzzy- Correct, tho not necessary. CPC24- Decimal slip, it's 72.01 standard #. There's a reason for that calculation. Sometimes these are light enough to ship by USPS, which is cheaper (much cheaper with priority fat rat). All- What you are over is priced high for the date, which I can't imagine anyone collecting by. It will prolly be bought by a Clueless Gnubee™. This is called a good delivery bar, meeting standards that are demanded by the exchange. If you buy one contract of silver and take delivery, you get five of them: Quote: Silver bars
Fineness: minimum of 999.0 parts per thousand silver
Marks: serial number, refiner's hallmark, fineness, year of manufacture, weight (optional)
Silver content: 750 oz t - 1100 oz t (900 oz t - 1050 oz t recommended)
Recommended dimensions
Length (top): 250 -- 350 mm Width (top): 110 -- 150 mm Height: 60 -- 100 mm
Basically, it's the cheapest per oz way to buy silver, carrying no premium, because it's just a block of silver. Unless you're collecting by date, there's no reason to pay a $6000 premium (heck, I can remember when $6000 would buy a bar!)--you could buy 1000 ASE cheaper!

rarity commands the premium, i'd bet the price would be much lower if APMEX has 100 to sell as oppose to the one at the moment.

True, but if they wanted 50 of them tomorrow, no problem. They're hoping to find a sucker who doesn't know how little collector demand this has. CNI buys at $1.00 back (compared to 80 on hundreds), Silvertowne @ $1.25 back. Demand is virtually zero; collectors won't buy them, and manufacturers buy direct.
Years ago a customer had an 80+ year old car he was gonna restore, one of six known. If you were looking for one, it would cost at least five figures, he ended up getting under $1000. A friend had a 54 Chrysler airport limo, one of 15 made. Good condition, we used it for hauling stuff to flea markets. He sold it to someone who wanted the hemi.

Perspective: Quote: According to the CME the average daily volume of Silver futures in the month of May was 117,196 contracts That's 585,980 of these bars, every day. They go on to say that's a 160:1 market, but that still leaves someone(s)getting 3662 of these, every day.

They go on to say that's a 160:1 market, but that still leaves someone(s)getting 3662 of these, every day. And then one day, their little paper game ended when the Chinese liquidated a billion ounces of paper silver for REAL silver that the paper pushers are supposed to have but in reality do not.
