Scooby Due Pillar of the Community United States 4000 Posts	Posted 06/26/2010 12:10 pm I'm aware of the '79-P Wide rim variety. Is there a wide rim variety on the '79-D? I've got one that has the date much closer to the rim than the rest of my '79-D's, but it might just be die wear. Not as close to the rim as a '79-P variety, but still seems closer than the rest. Just wondering if the wide rim exists on the '79-D. Can't find anything on it. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/28/2010 7:38 pm Here is an image: The date is near in the sense that the rim is wider. Check out the distance of the date from the bust. They are the same. Rim is wider thus the near date (to the rim). Report this Post to the Staff
Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 06/29/2010 8:12 pm Don't bother with the date from the date to the bust, look at the distance of the 1 to the rim. On the close date (wide rim) the distance from the 1 to the rim is less than the width of the 1. On the far date (narrow rim) it is twice the thickness of the upright of the 1.
