I'm aware of the '79-P Wide rim variety. Is there a wide rim variety on the '79-D?

I've got one that has the date much closer to the rim than the rest of my '79-D's, but it might just be die wear. Not as close to the rim as a '79-P variety, but still seems closer than the rest. Just wondering if the wide rim exists on the '79-D. Can't find anything on it.

SBA-Question
The date is near in the sense that the rim is wider. Check out the distance of the date from the bust. They are the same. Rim is wider thus the near date (to the rim).

Don't bother with the date from the date to the bust, look at the distance of the 1 to the rim. On the close date (wide rim) the distance from the 1 to the rim is less than the width of the 1. On the far date (narrow rim) it is twice the thickness of the upright of the 1.

I use the 1 and the last 9 as a guide, when they are almost touching the rim, you have a near date!PS, Near referring to the date being NEAR to the rim.

I have the '79-P wide rim. You can clearly see the difference.

I was just wondering if there was one for the '79-D. I didn't find anything on it anywhere, so I assume not. Mine is probably just good old worn dies.

No as far as I know the "wide rim" is only found on the P coins in 1979. I believe all of the 1980 and 81 coins are wide rim.
