Hi all, I recently purchased a 5 cent roll from an ebay seller ID coinstony, the roll was described as Pristine never been opened with UNC or better coins, when I took the roll from the bubble wrap it was in I thought it looked suspicious so I got my Mrs to video me opening the roll. The coins are not even close to UNC & they are'nt even all the same date, they range from 1966 to 1981 from a quick look through them. Here is the video. http://s389.photobucket.com/albums/...dcb123e0.mp4Edited by appleangel07 07/28/2012 09:15 am

That would be very upsetting. What are you going to do now? I guess that one will make the list being compiled of dodgy ebayers.

Cool video, shocking coins Now it was a Royal Mint roll right not a security company roll, this should never happen right? So it's been tampered with, BAD SELLER

unfortunately I paid via bank deposit ( never again ) so now I have to go through a lengthy process of online fraud & ebay item not as described, but the seller is a scum bag of the highest order.

I clicked on the link and it says its a private album and I need a password What a shame. Is there a return policy? Did you pay via paypal? and have you left feedback yet?

It is a reserve bank roll, the seller tried to say it must have been someone at the reserve bank or downies or it happened in the post, then tried to blame me of switching the coin because as he put it there was'nt a sexy date in the roll. have a look at his completed listing & the other rolls he has sold, they all look as if they've been rerolled, only noticed this after I started looking into this scumbags feedback. http://www.ebay.com/csc/coinstony/m...3911.c0.m283

Ok that time the video worked.
Its a goodthing that this site blocks swear words or else this post would be filled with them. What a SCUMBAG!
If he lived near me id be visiting his house! A good reason to never use bank deposit unless you trust the seller.
Hope you can get some money back for them AA!

That ID has only been active since the end of May and sold a lot of items in that time. Maybe we know them in a previous ebay life.

Its getting worse the last couple of years, not sure whats happening with Stamps but Coin scams are are getting out of control.Buying rolled coin is always dicey, easy for someone to manipulate the contents somewhere along the line.

Quote: Buying rolled coin is always dicey, easy for someone to manipulate the contents somewhere along the line. Especially since the only way to prove it has been manipulated is to break open the roll. I'm sure sellers rely on peoples reluctance to do that.
