I suspect that the seller will claim "I got it that way". Even so, if you have sold something to someone that is not what you claimed, it is your responsibility to fix the problem. The seller needs to fix this problem or they have done the wrong thing - regardless of who made the dodgy roll (and that is giving the seller the benefit of the doubt that it might not have been them).

... what a terrible disappointment appleangel07 . Admiration for keeping your cool . One more reason why I shall stay away from ebay. The wares may be tempting, but you never know what you are going to get. Squire

that sux ,just a low dog mongrel act driven by pure greed , appleangle if I was you I would contact the other buyers of the other dodgy rolls the seller has sold Believe me I seriously thought about doing this but I could get in a lot out trouble & risk my case against the seller by doing that,i have left Neg & started a case against him,he is none to happy now, After telling me yesterday I am not getting anything he had the hide to put this in the resolution centre, Now he has left me a negative feedback so it is clear that there was to be no good faith negotiation. but he did'nt know at the time I had already supplied all correspondence between us ,to ebay trust & safety.

Just a note about rolls: If you are after genuine uncirculated single year coin rolls, the only ones that you can be fairly certain about are RAM rolls. Back in the good old bad old days, all Banks used to roll their own coins, including the RBA, so there's no way anybody can tell what's in a Bank Roll these days. If you managed to get an RBA Roll that had all Unc coins from one year only, you just struck it very lucky. Even if you've got old RBA rolls with what look like Unc on each end, you simply can't be sure what else is inside, but if you've got RAM rolls, you're pretty safe. In Qld now, all coins are supplied in plastic bags, even security company rolls are gone. One thing about the bags, at least you can get a fair idea what's inside, and if you don't like the look of the coins, ask your friendly teller for an exchange bag (if you're game. Heheheh.) I do have a few rolls in my possession, and as far as I know, they are all RAM rolls, and all are recent year Commem coins.

I had read this as being about a "RAM" roll (where all coins should be new and of the same year). I just saw Nancy's post, and looked at the video again, and saw that it was a reserve bank roll. I had not noticed that on the small screen on my phone last night, and I dont know anything about those. Does that mean that the roll may have been created like that by the reserve bank? I did not notice any new design coins in the roll when looking at the video, but it is not clear enough to see all coins in enough detail to be sure. What years did the Reserve bank make rolls, and (for AppleAngel) what year coins were in the roll?

Mate, Good job on thinking ahead and video recording this, as I buy alot of silver and coins off ebay I do the same, I record from the momemt I'm opening the parcel with the item(s) inside. I'd be sending this video to him (if have'nt already) and addressing the fact see what he has to say, Think I may of bought off him, i'll go look now! Good luck & and thank-you for the warning

The dates range from 1966 to 1981 ozcoins & yes I think from what Nancy has said it is possible that the reserve bank did roll these coins & for that fact alone I will never again bid on a reserve bank roll. Have said that it does'nt excuse the seller from the way they sold them or their behaviour since I first messaged them about this.
This is the feedback I received after I opened the dispute & left his feedback,as expected though & I will be seeking removal.

AppleAngel, I have had a look at the listing, and my opinion is that the seller is in the wrong here. The reasoning for this is: His decription "will contain UNC or better coins". Even if it is simply his mistake that the coins would all be the same year, and would be in great condition, the fact is they were not. If you (as the buyer) were relying on the description (and it is clear you were), then the description misled you about what you were getting.

Quote: What years did the Reserve bank make rolls, Back in the 80's, the RBA would have been making rolls from coins that had been deposited, as well as new coins that came from the RAM, but to my knowledge, the rba didn't specifically do 'single year' rolls. Any years coins (up to the time of rolling) could be in them, the same as any other Bank Rolls of that period. AA's decision not to buy RBA rolls again is a sound one.

What I was wondering about the dates was: If there were coins AFTER the reserve bank stopped making rolls (eg if there was a 2010 coin in there), then that would prove someone had tampered with the roll.
