As far as I know the last RBA rolls were the 1990 1c, but could be wrong.Buying rolls has always been a risky business, especially RBA rolls, even RAM rolls can contain a lot of duds(even if they are all uncirculated).I'm sure the seller must have known it was a refilled roll and should not have even put it up for sale claiming unc or better. You are not alone in being dudded by a roll Apple, I feel your pain!!

Thankyou Airgem, I think you are right about him knowing the roll was shonky,i believe he opened it as it had been opened not long before I received it in my opinion. Since I first messaged the seller I have copped abuse, accusations, slander in my feedback & I have had enough of this SCUMBAG ,ebay will be taking action against the seller for all the above. He really is an idiot,he can't even be civil in the resolution centre & continues with his seriously bad attitude,at least ebay & their trust & safety are getting to see his true form.

You have to keep any emails he sends too and let ebay see them, as threats and such are not tolerated.

I'm currently reading a copy of Australian Coin Review for February 1990 (issue 308), and there is an article on the 'death of the mint roll' by Mick Vort-Ronald on page 32. I'd guess from the article that 1989/90 is the last RAM roll year. From the mid 1980s quite a few demominations and dates are mint set only, and collector demand for rolls had been in decline. An added cost of rolling coins was introduced by the Reserve Bank in 1987, and it was cheaper for banks etc. to get bagged coin instead.

PD, That all sounds correct for RAM, but the roll AA got was a "reserve bank" roll, not a RAM roll.

Someone mentioned that this guy has good coins & good prices,i just been having a look through his completed & current listings & I do not see one single coin that is graded correctly,to me the coins look at least 2 grades lower than stated in his description, the UNC florins he has going off tonight are gVF at best IMO,the scans are too high resolution to IMO attempt to hide the wear, just my honest opinion as I know some will say it's sour grapes. The coin in the link below is a good example. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...p=true&rt=nc

The only reason I can think of to buy those papers is to defraud.

I should have typed that better- I meant to say they were rolls of coins in Reserve wrappers; not just a wrapper in its own.

Appleangel,
I tripped over one of his UNC florin listings today and while I'm no grading expert it didn't look like a UNC coin so I wouldn't be surprised if there was overgrading occurring.

hi I can add another story for this dodgy seller. basically bought an item from **another seller**. item delivered - not as described. I messaged the seller, all they did was respond with accusations on being a liar / cheat, everything under the sun to avoid me. after getting nowhere with them, I left negative feedback. I then got some very nasty messages the next morning. basically the underlying tone was their ebay selling reputation was damaged ra ra ra. quite astonishing some of the responses really. I then noticed that day they moved all of their sale items that day to the coinstony account. different alias same person. avoid like the plague. note as well - this is not the first time they have done the account switcheroo and I'm sure it wont be the last!
