Hello:) Could you grade and value this coin for me? It is not my coin and I don't know how much pay for it. Between F and VF grade is huge difference, so I need your help:) Could you tell me something about this die cracks at date and "S" (in "States")? Also I think that mintmark is double. This errors could rise value of this SLQ? Thanks for help:)

The reverse of this coin is covered with the telltale marks of cleaning, and I see similar in the lower left quadrant of the obverse. Pass this one by. The die cracks are neat, but wouldn't add value to the coin.

In your opinion how much is it worth as a cleaned coin?

Await other opinions; do not act on mine alone.

This coin's details make low VF easily. It's a tough coin, worth well over $300 in that grade with original surfaces. I'm bothered by the apparent "shine" the coin has in the images; if you can see any actual "shine" on the coin (it shouldn't have any in VF20-25), then it's been hurt very badly by the cleaning. If what I see is only because of the lighting, and the color/luster of the coin looks appropriate for the grade, I could see reaching as far as $150 for it but preferably less. If that "shine" actually exists, I don't think I'd go over $100.

Keep in mind, the numbers I'm providing would allow you to have the coin slabbed and liquidated by a US auction house (which is where a coin like this one should go) and still either break even or make you a few bucks. You have a strong argument against paying full price for this one, so you might as well reach for the best deal you can get.

Again, wait for further opinion.

I agree. VF20-25 details coin. Tough date but if this cleaning is any more than what it looks like, moderate, value is greatly reduced.

I like it at VF25/30 but it does appear to have had a cleaning, maybe even a polishing wheel or buffing pad applied to it.

I am going to grade it as VF-30 details (cleaned) as well. I am going to disagree with some on it's value. $200 is not that bad. You have to consider what series and what coin we're talking about. Standing Liberty quarters have probably been cleaned more than any other series in US coin history so it's the uncleaned ones that actually carry premiums over some written value. This is also one of the higher value semi key dates in a desirable grade. Try finding this coin uncleaned with that much detail. In my experience people don't deduct as heavily on this series for cleaning as they might on others. The main reason already stated above as well as the fact that the design starts becoming unattractive quickly as more wear occurs so the buyer might value this coin as an original F/VF. I mean, most fines of this date will already be missing large parts of the date. $200 isn't awesome, but a very fair price IMO.
