I've been storing most of my coins in sandwich bags for the time being... just wanted to check if this is safe for the coins? All ziploc or great value brands.

They're polyethylene, not PVC, so there shouldn't be a problem. I've never observed one.

You're safe, but you'll need to come up with something more substantive in time. Metal military surplus ammo cans might be a good next step. They're relatively inexpensive, surprisingly atmosphere-resistant and you could put your ziploc bags inside them. Toss in a desiccant pak and they'll stay dry as a bone.

So long as the coins don't jingle against each other inside the bags.

I do the same but most are also in 2x2 mylar holders, just bagged waiting to be sorted into 2x14" boxes. Never had an issue with weird toning or any other problem attributable to the bag.

Ziplock type bags are all coin safe. However, by themselves, they don't offer much protection.

MO LAYERS = MO BETTA I "store" my coins in small individual ziploc-style bags, then put these bags in larger ones (often with another ziploc layer in the middle). I do have a few album-ish pages specifically intended for coin storage, but coins in them had been noticed to turn green in places, and it's rather hard both to push coins there and to make sure they don't accidentally fall out; so lately I've been abandoning these pages and putting coins from there in ziplocs as well.

I believe what you are describing are folders, their use and effects from their glue are known. That's why many have switched over to albums. The holes are the correct size, and the coins are held in place by a clear film on the front and back.

Many outdoor stores sell these ammo cans (military style metal). You can get .50Cal military ammunition boxes for $19.00 at Gander Mountain. I just got some (for ammunition).

I have several of the ammo cans and love those, but like the idea of a desiccant pack in the can. I also have several old whitman coin folders and have started keep those sealed in the larger resealable freezer bags.

Ziplock bags are available for storage of A4 sized paper. Perhaps these or the next size larger could be used for storing album pages long term.

Don't sandwich bags contain PVC? I store my coins in coin envelopes or mylar flips. I store wheat pennies in a coffee can.

I didn't realize this hobby would require a chemistry degree. I think the answer to BuddyCat is that some bags to contain PVC and BPA and some don't. Glad and Ziploc say that their bags do not. From a couple of quick web searches there appear to be no standards regarding this, I even found a site to help you find a pvc/bpa free baby pacifier. My friend - who does have a chemistry degree - will not buy any sort of plastic ware or styrofoam for the kitchen or food use. There is plenty of reasons not to trust any of these plastic bags. For expensive coins perhaps the best option is to spend a few cents more and get resealable mylar bags, I see that Amazon has lots of options for these. I have never noticed them on a store shelf but will be on the lookout.
