Any fellow dime collectors out there? Curious as to level of interest, types and grades collected, etc. I am looking to find some FT or FB sources to help complete my collection.
Thanks, Lonnie

Welcome to the forum.
Dimes are my least favorite circulating denomination, although I have completed a decent Roosevelt set. I also have put aside a few of the 1996 W dimes.

Welcome lonnie.
I started a Roosevelt collection (only have a few of the silver), but the first thing I did was go to the bank. I purchased $100.00 worth of rolls and found just about all the ones I needed from 1965 to date. Now I buy a couple of rolls now and then and replace ones with better examples. Need to get after the earlier ones but have too many sets started at one time!

Lonnie - welcome to our family. I have completed a circulated Roosevelt set (no, I don't have a 96W yet). Also have the Mercury set minus the 3 key dates (16D, 21, and 21D) and I've managed to get a couple dozen Barber dimes, a half dozen Seated Libertys, and one Capped Bust dime. The surprising part is that I haven't really concentrated on the dimes - just sort of picked them up here and there. As has been pointed out in an earlier post, probably the best place to find Roosevelt dimes is your local bank - lot of searching, but you'll be able to fill alot of holes in your album. Ralph

I've got a complete roosy set up to 1964 I'm upgrading. The really neat thing about the roosevelt silvers is that you can get basically all dates and mintmarks from 1955 to 1964 in BU condition for melt value or just a little over. And you should be able to get AU quality all the way down to 1946 - I'm talking about not more than $1.25 or so per coin. Just browse in the coin binders at the next coin show you go to!! I agree 100% with the bank rolls. Great for post 1964 stuff, but don't count on much silver - very, very rare to find - at least for me . Maybe it's because they're so small, but you can find really choice examples from rolls or even your pocket change.

Welcome to the forum. Roosevelts are my favorite to collect. They are relatively inexpensive and could be completed with little effort or money. In recent years I have obtained a couple of 1982 P without the mint mark.

I have my Dansco up to date including the proofs and silver proofs. I have about 3 rolls of pre-1965s with various dates that I have set back. :)

Great to hear from fellow collectors! I've got 1,000's of BU roosevelts. Up until silver started creeping up you could buy silver BU rolls all day long for less than $30.00 a roll! Outside of maybe 5 dates/MM's of the 48 coin silver set, you can buy just about all of them in nice BU for under $10.00 ea. raw!
Right now, I am working on a certified MS 67 set with full torch! Talk about a challenge! Still dates I have never seen in the FT or FB designation!
Happy Hunting all!

Lonnie, I may have some you would be interested in in a couple of days. They are both UNC and proofs. I have to go get them. Took them to my local coin shop and showed them to a friend of mine and then ended up leaving them there. I will follow-up as soon as I have them. Jim

Welcome lonnie, I have a complete gem Unc Roosevelt set with Proofs, back to 1953 plus die varieties and the 1996W- And I can say that the full torch designation in my opinion is actually an die state and although sought after I am not sure yet, that higher premiums should be paid for them. My Mercury set is missing 2 and My Barber is 3/4 of the way full circulated of course.

I think the full torch CAN be die state. However, there are some dates/MM that the certified quantity in any grade are rare. Although I do think the same can be said for Mercuries, Jefferson nickels and Franklin halves. I do think you compare the reverse full torch dime to one that is not, and, it definitely has more eye appeal. Okay Jim, let me know what you have Have a great one!!

The coin roll hunting is the easiest and cheapest imo. Out of $50 in dimes recently I found everything but 2 coins from 64 to present in good shape. Also found a silver dime and Mercury dime. Dimes and the Nickles are the most over looked current circulation type collection IMO.
