1876 Half Dollar - *details*?

Obviously this is just for fun. I pulled this out of the clean-out pit below the pulper at a paper mill (ca 1980). The company recycled newspaper into new paper, so lots of chemicals went in. Cleaning "the pit" was the most disgusting job, but all kinds of stuff gets into a pile of old newspaper, so the possibility of finding something interesting added a treasure hunt factor. Paper money even survived sometimes (barely).
