Okay guys, ebay said that they send the buyer a label to send back the item. Is that right? I've never heard of it. My guess is when a case is open that happens.

Try to get ahold of an ebay supervisor on the phone and explain the entire situation. The expectation of you paying return shipping and paying to send a return label is a kick in the teeth.

No, I didn't have to pay the shipping back, ebay did. I had never heard of that before. Anyway, I beat the tracking number and sent him a refund before ebay could. The lures were the same, and as far as I can tell, I get my fees back and am not held at fault since I sent the refund. It closed the case. I'll put up a link in a minute to the auction so you guys can see.

Oh okay - I misread that part. At least you didn't have to pay return shipping and have your fees back as you should. I looked up your auction a couple weeks ago and saw where you listed it might be re-painted. I don't think you could have covered it any better.

HERE's the NEW problem with ebay...first, they took away the sellers rights to leave negative feedbacks...all heck broke lose..now, it's "buy on approval", with no way for seller to win..EVER...buyers knew this, and, cherry-picked coins they thought might upgrade..if, in hand, they decided no, then, they open a claim of not as described...win every time...NEXT...ebay took away the feature to check feedbacks for "FEEDBACK REMOVED"..the ONLY way to tell a buyer's shady past..always a HUGE red flag...now, you can see NO records...the scammers are having a field day..I COULD...repeat..COULD make a VERY good living ripping off sellers this way(the other big scam is on multiple coin orders, and, the buyer lies, and, says 3 Morgan dollars "not in packet"....open a case..BOOM..account frozen...even if you put NO REFUNDS...ebay pays them back, then bills YOU...if you don't pay, they close your account)..how do I know this? It happened to me, 2 years ago.. a real pro..had hit 7 other sellers, just as me(he cried fowl that silver order was "underweight", and, blackmailed for partial refunds...5 of the 7 sellers I wrote had the same story about this clown, and, all were taken down by him..ebay did NOTHING, and, when I left NEGATIVE in the feedback box, they banned me for life)..brutal...beyond brutal...now, with new clear head, I always shoot all coins, with packing label printed, as I am mailing, to prevent this..I SAY this in my listings...I shoot die markers for my records, to keep coin swappers at bay...it's the wild wild west out there, with sellers leaving in droves, and, scammers making a great living knowing they will win every single time.

Instead of a discouraged sellers thread, I think we should add a discouraged buyers thread, because I am afraid that is who the problem is right now.

BassMaster========================= Quote:I sold a fishing lure lot of 3 the other night, and it bid way up. I was shocked and later found out which one they were looking at. I stated in the listing that I thought it had been repainted. I shipped it to the buyer and I got a message today saying that the lure had been repainted and he wants his money back. Great, now I'm going to have to go through ebay probably to get this worked out. What do you guys think about this? The part I do not understand is: Does he want to return all 3 lures? Or only one lure? He can't just keep 2 lures. Correct? It was plain in your description about being repainted. My personal opinion is he bid this auction way up === and now he is just reneging.

No, he had to return all 3. He bid way up because of one in the lot, and that is the one he was unhappy with. The first ebay rep and I also think it was buyer remorse. It is dumb ebay didn't stand on seller protection here.
