Are you ready for the onslaught of "errors" in the TJ dollars? Buckle-up, hunker-down, and hold on tight. We're in for a roller coaster ride of rags-to-riches proportions.
Or...just ignore it all, kick back and relax.

Now if only someone finds a Jefferson nickel on the dollar planchet or the Jefferson dollar on a nickel planchet, we'll have an example of irony.

"Jefferson dollar on a nickel planchet" this is possible, but NOT the other way around.
But the best would be a struck jeff dollar on a struck jeff nickel. a "hundred five" cent piece

You know it would be way to tempting to work at the mint and not try that out.

There will be errors. But Jefferson's official numismatists won't acknowledge them as part of the set for 100 years.

Better hoard them all as next year the edge lettering will again be a thing of the past. At least thats the rumor at this time! As for the Presidential dollars, after seeing the proofs, I see no major reason to collect them other than a set for my little son. I see no value in the next 40 years especially after all of them tone in the next 3! And, my gut feeling is this series will not be completed as long as the paper notes are being printed by the B.E.P. as our warehouses can only hold so many dollar coins that aren't in demand! If the Mint and Congress was looking for something to rival the Statehood Quarter program they have missed it by a mile!

How did you find was the best way to sell them? Certified after a 2-4 week turn-around or raw? If certified, which TPG did you use? How many days auction? Starting price? Buy It Now? Any other tips? I got them certified because I was paranoid that some buyers would buy my real coins & return altered coins to me. Meanwhile, I saw uncertified Adams going for the same prices as certified. I used ICG because of the fast turn-around; 5 day auctions; 0.99 starting price. As I said, after all the trouble & expense I went through, I saw people buying raw, uncertified Smooth Edge & Double Lettering Edge coins for the same price (& more) than I got for my certified coins! How frustrating! BTW, I was selling coins I purchased raw & then got them certified. So my profit was far less than those folks that were the original finders. I searched 5,000 & I only found minor errors that I couldn't even sell.

How frustrating! BTW, I was selling coins I purchased raw & then got them certified. So my profit was far less than those folks that were the original finders. I searched 5,000 & I only found minor errors that I couldn't even sell. I was an original finder as you call it. Even had articles in CoinWorld and Numismatic News written. I was taking pictures and setting them on ebay, First started off with a 7 day auction on the original find, then went to one day auctions selling them raw. I started them at $1.00 and let the bidders do the pricing. I have not sold any of the ones that I had slabbed via NGC but will be soon. If you bought them raw on ebay then you might have gotten them from me. Its been a fun ride so to speak, made a couple of dollars and got some key coins that I have wanted. I can tell you that ICG coins will not bring premium dollars, at least not in this area of the world. Most dealers dont even consider them legit around here. Its NGC, PCGS or ANACS. Thats probably why the lower prices. Again, take this into consideration, there are/were a few sellers on ebay that had the dollars early and were selling them right along raw. Pretty safe to say that the dollars they have today are legit as well if though raw. Now there are Fakes out there dont get me wrong. Just watch who is selling them and check the track records, that tells the story. Good Luck with the Jeffersons, may the mint shine brightly with their blunders at a bank near you! Jim..
