Pair Of 2 Reales 1820zag With Differences?

worldnumis Pillar of the Community United States 731 Posts	Posted 03/11/2015 5:28 pm I have a pair of 2 Reales both dated 1820ZAG. One is 26m.m.weighing 6.8 grams and the other is 28m.m weighing 6.3 grams with a widely spaced date. Should these Independance isues vary that much or could one or boh be contemporary issues? You even had portrait variations - they were not using king punches until the late end of the mint (from what I remember) I have another one which is different from yours :) Report this Post to the Staff

Its already been shown that the cast issues may not have the GNL 0.2% minimum gold signature due to their cast character (i.e., dendritic microstructure). We only scratched the surface ... of course.
