jasper62 Pillar of the Community United States 2189 Posts	Posted 07/26/2015 2:42 pm A dime planchet from 1966 will weigh 2.27 grams & a cent planchet will weigh 3.1 grams.Pretty big difference.Any local coin/pawn/jewelry shop could weigh it for you.Just an idea Report this Post to the Staff

I am adding picss of the coin compared to a reguler dime and a penny in a dime flip. The coin is definately smaller than a penny, appears perhaps a tad bit larger than the regular dime and maybe not perfectly rounded. Will let ya know what they say. Report this Post to the Staff

It almost looks like someone plated the cent and then reduced the edge a bit? The edge looks to rounded to me. So I would check around first to see what others who can give it a hands on think about it first. You should be able to see the cladding on the edge. (no reeding because it was struck with in a cent collar) Report this Post to the Staff
Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 07/27/2015 09:29 am First it isn't a cent on a dime, it looks like a cent on a dime PLANCHET (big difference in value).
