For a bid of $60 this "problem child" decided to join some of my other "Morgans with Issues." G-6 details, or no go? Higher? Lower? It looks to be an ex-mount piece. No DMPL action here, but I guess it has "character?" I like it anyway. Obverse has full rims, no details in hair above ear, minor rim issues, I would say G4. Reverse is G6, but obverse carries the grade, and thus, I would call this a G4 if it grades. Of note, it's a relatively rare VAM 9A, with the die break on the first left star. I have a VF-ish grade one. Pretty cool variety, even if it is not a tailbar. :) Edited by CartwheelCollector

Without the VAM, slight overpayment, maybe $10 or so. With it, about market price. I would personally rather have a nice VF for $30 more and not have the 1880-O in your other thread, since I don't really care about the VAM 9A unless I can find one in a GSA holder for... not crazy money. This one does have a decent look overall for such a low grade coin, though. It might make for a nice pocket piece if you want to keep wearing her down a bit, although 1890-CC is the toughest date of Morgan to score a PO1 grade on due to the Tailbar variety being such a unique, easy to spot, relatively centrally-located identifier. I've got an 1892-O pocket piece currently in FR02 and working its way down the ladder. ;)   I don't consider anything +/- $50 gain or loss to be particularly notable, so I'm okay with losing $10 here or gaining $10 there or whatever.
