I ran a three hour contest yesterday and promised another one since that one was won so quickly, so here goes...I went to my coin club meeting tonight and went nuts buying and made some great finds which I will tell of in another post, but one thing was interesting to me. I saw a very young boy (about 8) sitiing by himself and staring at the floor half the time and at the auction area the other half. He didn't seem to be with anyone so my wife and I spoke to him and he said that his grandmother had dropped him off because he needed to be there to buy a coin. He had a very specific coin in mind and an equally specific reason for wanting it. My wife has been teary-eyed all night talking about it. I wanted to share this story and thought that a contest was maybe a bad way to do it, but it is all I can think about at the moment and I promised a contest. I will share the reason after someone guesses the coin he needed to buy. I will give a hint first and leave it at that since the hint will narrow it way down. The winner will receive a full-date Standing Liberty quarter for their guess. HINT: There's almost no way he'll ever get near one, let alone own one...which makes it even worse.

Ok, I'l make a wild guess, I'm not very well versed in USA coins, so don't laugh at me... I only have about 12 quarters and thee other US coin with me... :/ anyway, I know the 1909 S VDB is pretty rare, so I'll go for that... Its definitely wrong.. :(

I knew you would be the first to reply. You are wrong, but it wasn't a horrible guess. That's a hard coin to find, but much farther from impossible than this one.
Also I am not sure how it works when you forget to put the complete rules in the listing, but I wanted to limit members to 2 guesses per day. If it is too late it's okay, I just got in a hurry I guess.

So this coin is even rarer than that? I really dunno then but I'll come up with a second blind guess soon enough.. :)
