Could I get some help with these ones especially the fair value on these coins? I know the pictures are not great, but I would appreciate any input.

Many Thanks in advance!

What are the years on the Russian coins? They look like they are easily 100 dollars each! Reverse photos would be helpful.

Hi gxseries,

Thanks for your comments.

Yes those are Russian but they were too worn and I think they are 1861 with the Russian double headed eagle. The other Russian one with Katherine is similarly worn. I'm more interested in the values of the European coins.

@gunstar, first welcome to CCF. Second, best practice is to post each coin separately, front and back in its own thread. Avoiding a cluttered background (including extra coins) and improving the lighting will also help. Thx.

The top coin looks like Austria 3 or 6 Kreuzer, 1652.

All I can find is this: https://www.ma-shops.com/loebbers/i...6022&lang=en

Yours maybe a larger, different coin such as a double taler but I am unsure. Someone on here will be able to help further with that coin and its value I'm sure.

The German 5 Mark 1903, here is a link. As we can't really see the condition of the coin it is hard to value:

http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coi...in_coin=8703

The 1821 looks like an Austria Thaler, although this website doesn't show an 1821 date:

http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coi...in_coin=1458

But Alas, here are some more values that do include that date.

Some better photos would definitely help determine rough values

Thanks to All for your help!

TobyJ you're a walking appraiser..... thanks for the info!

Spence, duly noted for next time.

If cleaning a coin diminishes it's value, should one buy old coins that are very well kept and shinny even though they have been circulated?

Again, thanks!
