We all talk about what we find week to week through searching boxes of rolled coins from local banks. I'm a new guy here and I've got some great stories to share, but I would like to hear what other members best finds are per box of any coin denomination. I always find it interesting to hear of the awesome finds some people come across when ordering from banks. Please share your best stories.

For me, it's probably been 2 1998 Wide AM Lincolns.

I found ~200 40% silver JFK halves in a single box a few months back. Only two in two boxes since... It's the lucky finds that keep you going!

My best pick from a bank box has to be the 1982 DDR that is my avatar. it is the discovery coin that was featured in articles in CoinWorld and Numismatic News. Only one more has been found since with both coins making their debut here on CCF. Richard

I found 2 yep two 1909 VDB cents in two different box's last year. one box from Az and the other from NH both in the same week. I gave them both away here on ccf.that was almost as fun as finding them Gary

Pennies: would have to be a 1984 Doubled Die (ear). Nickels: a UNC 1955 d/s, followed by a 1938d Buffalo in EF. Halves: Two Barbers (1902o and 1912d). I don't search dimes and quarters.

i search through alot of rolls, for halves it would be a bu 1941 d, for cents it would be a 1901 IHC, for dimes I would a 1947d, quarters are worthless, dollars I havent tried yet, but the best luck for me has been with nickels, ive found 1883 with cents, a 1950 proof, and a major die break to boot. Ive found other goodies at the bank where I work but they technically wherent in rolls.

My best 90% silver half box contained 31 walking liberties, 2 Barber halves, 1 franklin and 3 40% silver pieces. It was a day I will never forget. There is nothing quite like opening a box of halves and there is a walking liberty staring you in the face. Immediately your heart begins to race and you start to feel that this could be "the box" of a lifetime. Also, my best 40% box had 137 pieces in it about 3 years ago. That was definitely a fun box to go through!

I've really only searched boxes of halves but I've pulled a 1970D, 1987P, 2002 silver proof. All together I've pulled about 300 40%, 28 90%, and 30 proofs. About 10 years ago I was searchign a bunch of nickels. I found about three rolls of War Nickels! I set them to the side, finished going through the rest of the box, and returned all the other nickles to the bank. When I went to show my wife the three rolls I opened them up and they were all common date nickles. I got them mixed up and took all the war nickles to the bank!
