Cool sight! I would love to see more info on the 3 cent pieces. 99.99% of the people I know, Know nothing about there existence. I have a few others but found it interesting that there where so few produced.
I agree. I am working on completing this set while offloading many of my conventional US collections (Lincoln, Buffalo, etc). I love these small coins.
Wow, I can not believe Preth hasn't piped in here. The 3 centers are a sleeper set thats for sure. You want to learn things about that coin look up prethren on this board. He is da King of 3 centers here as far as I know.
Jeffreyice...feel free to ask any questions you'd like either through a particular topic on these boards or via email to me if you'd like. However, I strongly suggest you search through the posts using the Search feature here (be sure to not forget the archived posts) for anything with "3CN" in it. There's a lot of stuff on this board. Probably a lot more than you'll see just about anywhere else on the Net.
As noted before, 3CN (along with some other stuff, like 20-centers) are a specialty of mine. I think they are quite underrated and very much undercollected. Finding nice, original, eye-appealing pieces for just about any date and any grade can be a challenge. Of course, the earlier dates are a bit easier, but quite often you'll run into problem pieces.
I got this one yesterday free, won't say how- OK I stole it JOKE haha. I'm not a numismatic guy but I don't think it had too much pocket time. Sorry about the pic quality, when I cropped them it blew them up too much. HH Mark
