I noticed this dime with unusual nostril that looks to be doubled... also notice the difference between the reverse side and thickness the left coin carries

An odd location, but I agree with it being a die chip.

In regards to the extra thickness you're seeing, it's probably just a worn die.

A rather unusual location, but it's a die chip.

That thickness you see is from a worn die/slight rim fin.
