I am old enough to remember watching the moon landing in 1969. As such I purchased one example of each coin in both proof and uncirculated versions. This includes the half dollar, silver dollar and five dollar gold pieces. Along with that was the five ounce one dollar coin and the two half dollar (Kennedy and clad commemorative). Buying the fiftieth anniversary commemorative coins and remembering when that happened...must have a few years under the belt. They are beautiful coins, albeit somewhat expensive. 2019 only comes around once.

Is anyone considering the two proof + Intaglio commemorative packages?

Well, someone must have been interested as the both products are currently on back order until 9/6. We should find out the first week of sales data tomorrow.

This product isn't listed on the Mint's 2019 Pricing of Numismatic Gold, Commemorative Gold, Platinum, and Palladium Products (although it should be ). It will be interesting to see if the price varies as the price of the Au proof coin + $19, or if it somehow remains a constant $479.50

Nope. I have pushed my budget enough this year.

Well that didn't happen. The August 11th sales report has been posted but these 2 products aren't listed

I guess they were such an afterthought that the Mint even forgot to add them to the sales report or maybe this is a BEP product and will never be reported in the Mint's sales figures

The proof half eagle in the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 2019 Proof $5 Gold Coin and Kennedy-Apollo 11 Intaglio Print product (19XA1) is part of the 50K mintage limit for the Apollo half eagles. The "normal" proof and mint state coins have a current combined mintage of 42,014. So, there are "only" 7,986 potential sales remaining across all three products.

For label collectors, the proof half eagle from the 19XA1 product may prove to be a sleeper IF the TPGs have a separate label for it. May be doubtful since it looks like this product is just a combination of the "normal" proof half eagle packaged with the print

It's Wednesday and the Mint's new pricing for the Au coins is on the website and ...... the proof Apollo half eagle is now priced at $485 (+$25 with the higher Au price) and the proof/print set is still priced at $479.50

Order the set and get the coin at a discount and the print for free! Quite the marketing tactic

Someone woke up at the Mint. This set is now priced as the half eagle proof price + $19 and Monday's (8/19/19) Federal Register has an announcement saying that will be the price from now on. So, no more discount

Maybe it's because I sent the Mint a query asking about these mintages, or maybe it's because they finally realized they weren't reporting the mintages BUT mintages for the 19XA1 and 19XA2 Apollo coin/print products were reported this week

Just received an email from the Mint saying that the 5 oz. dollars are back in stock if anyone wants to order at this point.
