I highly doubt this is a 1909-S VDB.

Seriously, guys, I agree completely that there is no visible S in the photos, but can anyone explain why it has the reverse of a 1909-S-VDB? This is not a 1909-VDB with an added S. It's either from a counterfeit die or someone scratched off the S of a real S-VDB.

Is that right, all SVDB reverse dies can be completely differentiated from all VDB reverse dies?

My understanding was that the position of the dot after the D, the height of the V, the form of the B, and the location of the initials relative to the wheat stalk could be used to distinguish a 1909-VDB from a 1909-S-VDB. But now that I'm comparing this coin with photos of some genuine coins, I'm not sure... I'm still leaning towards counterfeit.

This is comparison with PCGS graded 1909-S VDB.
IMO Nobile03 your VDB is counterfiet as even the VDB appears to short and wide.
