I try to look up the terms when I find a new one, but the sites say a spread but I cannot find what it means. I assume it means it is thicker towards the middle than normal from hub doubling but want to make sure that is correct.

Spread is the distance between two hubbings or two punchings on RPMs. Here are a few examples:

Note the spread to the west?

On a doubled die it is see on the center part of the devices:

The spread is to the NE direction.

On this one the top is the same image as above, the lower one is a spread to the east or west.

I have learned more from this site than all the books I bought on what to look for in errors. I appreciate the time given to answering questions.

Yep. That's very true. When I joined this site on July 3rd, 2017, I didn't know as nearly as much as I know now. Thanks to this website, I am answering a lot of the questions for the new numismatics just getting into the hobby.

Suprisingly I never thought I could ever learn as much as some of the people on here. Now I know about 1% of what they do.
