Yes, it is worth the silver value. Somewhere around 75 cents.

Silver war nickels were made fron part of 1942 through 1945.

Yes, it is a War Nickel made of 35% silver. Generally, the value starts at about $1 for worn examples like this. The large mintmark over Monticello's dome indicates it is a War Nickel.

Worth about a dollar. Remember, that is 20x the face value of the coin! Definitely a keeper.
