@MW, it looks like this was added to the coin after it left the mint. If it indeed is metal, then my best guess is that it is a copper/zinc braze rather than gold.

From pics provided,OBV looks normal. REV looks like something "stuck" on the coin. And congrats on 50 posts

Looks like it was subjected to an electrical arc maybe. Dunno but sure it's PMD.
