Hello everyone. I just started collecting, so please excuse my naivetÚ. I'mánot exactly sure what to make of this quarter. I was thinking maybe the clad layers are missing. Any help, comments or advice will be most appreciated. It weighs 5.11

to CCF. It is an acid damaged coin not an error.

@kimbym, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes this is a good question. The characteristics of a clad coin spending time in an acid bath are lighter weight, rough surface, and that peculiar inset ring around the edge.
