1957-D Wheat Penny Errors Question - Coin Community Forum

Jeff75645 Valued Member United States 51 Posts	Posted 04/15/2020 7:51 pm I got this penny in with a group of other and noticed some weird markings. I tried researching and only came up with an answer for a couple of the questions I had. Can anyone tell me about these markings? Also if you zoom it there looks to be an "L" on the edge as well. Looks like it's going to become a Retained Cud eventually. These types of errors are pretty common the the 1950's Wheat Cents. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff

Second, yes that does look kinda like a letter L, but it is just a couple of tiny intersecting marks (not a mint error).
