Sharing a few of the coins I have collected from Israel and Palestine British Mandate. My focus is Palestine British Mandate as part of my family comes from there. Right now I found that Numiscorner sells a nice selection if not large of these coins. But I got into it because my local coin shop had a necklace made from some of these coins. So I wonder if people could recommend dealers who are reputable and fair that sell such coins (I am not doing auctions just yet - still new and on a budget but willing to spend up to $200-300 for a nice coins with modest or, if possible low mintage. But would want to spend under $100 or 75 for the majority of the coins. In the meantime, hope you enjoy the pictures. Palestine: 1939 100 Mils 1941 and 1942 1 Mil 1945 2 Mils Israel: 1949 10 Prutas

Interesting. I had a 1927 20 mils that I sold but still have a 1927 1 mil as my lone example from Mandatory Palestine. They seem to have decent value/demand. Good luck on your search.

These coins seem to get high prices a lot. I am lucky to have accumulated a few, but the 100 Mils still eludes me. Here are some of mine 1942 1 mil 1935 50 mils 1927 10 and 2 mils 1934 5 mils The stamps are also interesting too.
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi. If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.

I've always liked this series, because my father served there during WW2 and brought back some coins, which he gave to me when I started collecting. Since then I've bought any odd Palestinian coins I've seen in dealer's junk bins. My entire Palestinian collection has been obtained either free (from my Dad) or from junk bins - I think the most I've ever spent on a Palestinian coin is 50 pence! Most are VF or better. Here are a couple of mine - 1927 2 mils and 1933 10 mils: Here is a list of my complete Palestinian collection: 1 mil 1927 1937 1939 1941 1942 1943 1944 1946 2m 1927 1941 1942 1945 5m 1927 1935 1939 1942 10m 1927 1933 1934 1935 1937 1940 1941 1942 bronze 20m 1927 1934 1935 1942 50m 1927 1933 1935 1939 1942 100m 1935

Thanks for sharing your coins - particularly enjoy the design of the 5 mils coin and those other denominations with the wreath. Here in the US it is not easy o find Palestine coins in junk bins.
Well if anyone can recommend dealers who usually have an inventory of such coins, please let me and others know. Seems there is an audience of collectors for them.
And please keep sharing your Palestine Mandate, early Israel (modern that is) coins!

I have added the following to my collection 20 Mils 1927 and 50 Mils 1939 100 Mils 1939 toned and 1935 EF lovely. A complete denomination set of Palestine for those of you considering collecting these interesting and fairly hard coins. Top row, 2 mils bronze and pretty manky, 5 mils cupronickel, 1 mil bronze. Bottom row, 50 and 100 Mils, 72% silver, 20 Mils and 10 mils cupro nickel. The 100 Mils and 50 Mils are similar in size to a shilling and florin but are very slightly larger and heavily (100 Mils = 28.5mm, 11.5grams, Florin 28.3mm, 11.31grams)

I can find incorrect photos for auctions every day, but not a certification that's been printed wrong. And where is the photo of the second coin in the lot? Might be an opportunity for a bargain if anyone's paying attention.

Great to see other Palestine coin collectors' stash. I added a 10 mils from 1939 (not pictured) and a 1940 20 mils the past few months.

I think that Krause values the 10 and 20 Mils in MS grades too highly. I have come across enough of them in MS to suggest that they are far more common in those grades.

Sel 69I - Thanks for the tip. I found the price I paid for my recent 20 Mils a little higher than I had expected but not terribly more. The seller based it on the Krause values so that probably explains the price even though min is an XF - the price for many grades ends up being increased.
Bacchus - You have some nice scarce dates for the 100 mils - especially the 1931. How did you come about acquiting your collection?

One of the issues I have with the Palestinian coins is how to properly grade them in circulated condition...i.e. Fine - Very Fine - Extremely Fine. Any insights?
