Are those 5 Euro coins meant for circulation? I have never seen one in the wild, I know there are 5 Euro notes, though.

The 2 Euros are nice, but that subtropical 5 Euro is my fave.

I stand to be corrected, but as far as I understand, 5 Euro coins are NCLT.

Nice coins Nancy.
The 5 Euro might be legal tender in Germany, but nobody in their right mind would spend one, when you see what they sell for.

very nice coins, I'm guess the birdies are what made them interesting for you.

Quote: but nobody in their right mind would spend one, when you see what they sell for. Agreed, but here's a true story: a few years ago my mother was a cashier in a small shop. One night a young guy walks in to buy a pack of cigarettes etc. He paid with a handful of coins: mostly Kennedy half dollars and a few other things, no big deal, she got those once in awhile. Well, my mother collects half dollars anyway and she knows I collect "those dollar coins" so she saved them out of the till at the end of her shift. Next time I see her she pulled out a lunchbag filled with coins and told me the story. I was expecting to find SBAs but whatever. Nope. There were 3 American Silver Eagles, not to mention the Kennedy halves ('64-'70 and a couple bicentennials). I figure maybe the guy got some coins from his granny and wanted a smoke and some red bull more than he wanted the coins. Now I have them ;) Anyway, you never know what peope will do. Some kid might not realize or might not care what he has - next thing you know it's in your till and in your pocket.
