I was extremely excited to see this coin come to auction. IMO it is the single greatest Flowing Hair half dime in the world once not only technical grade, but eye appeal is taken into account. That's amazing! It looks like it was minted in the last few years, not 225 years ago. Someone loved this coin and protected it from the very first day. Thanks for posting!
The first US coin motto was found on a 1792 half disme and read: "LIB (erty) PAR (ent) OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY"

Thanks. It's a great coin but I'll stick with the 1794, which might make FR2. It's an excellent pocket coin.

To see any coin that old in a mint state grade with luster boggles the mind. How was it stored before modern preservation techniques?
