Help please. I have looked at this coin from multiple magnifications, and angles. There appears to be doubling on "Liberty", and the Date. Not sure if it is true DDO, Machine Doubling, Die Deterioration, or zinc rot.

@red, from this pic, the two arms of the letter Y in LIBERTY seem to be slightly different widths. I'm interested to hear what others think about this--simply a trick of the lighting or evidence of slight doubling?

Better lighting would help. Definitely no zinc rot.

Looks like coin contact has altered some of the devices on the coin. The '5' the mintmark look altered. Glare is not your friend. Try to diffuse the light.

Even a curtain of a plastic grocery bag can help remove glare.

Us this for a frame and put some plastic from a grocery back to diffuse the lights glare.
