The staff sent me a little something to celebrate the 100k.

My very first error Ike!

Very nice! Did you notice the Blakely's effect on the opposite side of the coin?

@Jbuck. I will consider 5% clipped by photo (give me numbers and I will tell exact). But J look also at "OF" it is very interesting and has nothing to do with the clip.

Congrats on the fine, fine buck error! And on the most outstanding milestone. Was thinking of you yesterday when that Ike doublestruck sold for $36 on ebay and wondering if you were the one who got it. Seemed ridiculously low price and although a very, very minor double strike it was being sold by a major error specialist so pretty darn sure he got the error correct.

That is the Blakesley effect. Strike pressure is not fully applied at the clipped area so the area directly opposite is not formed properly.

A fine example of Newton's Third Law, with a pressure drop in the collar die.

A 4% uncirculated clip, according to error dealer Jon Sullivan (I usually measure clip percentage by weight). This example also has the nice dovetailing of the rims into the clip and weakness of devices adjacent and opposite of the clip. It has ALL the criteria we use in validating clips, and is a good visual example to teach others.

The CCF staff wanted to send him this one... but dang it, someone bought it before we could snag it!

I collect the Canadian equivalent of the Ike dollar, the nickel dollar... there are nowhere near the amount of super cool errors in the Canadian series as there are with Ike dollars.
